460 Dunstable Squadron Air Cadets took one big step closer to the start of their latest project - to build a fully functional 2-person hovercraft, with a generous grant of £5,000 from the Bedfordshire & Luton Community Foundation. The Cadets are using the Hovercraft as a long term project to enhance their engineering knowledge and skills, as well as their flying ability. The Hovercraft is being built at RAF Halton, where it will be 'flown' on the grass airstrip, courtacy of the Officer Commanding RAF Halton. The 4 metre reinforced fibreglass hovercraft will be flown by the cadets during the summer and shown at local community events during the year. Look out for the hovercraft at local events including carnivals.
