SQUADRON CAMP 2008 - RAF ODIHAM

On the 23rd of August the cadets from 460 started their annual squadron camp. This year we went for a change. Instead of our usual camp at Folkestone we went to RAF Odiham. We also invited 3 cadets and 2 members of staff from another squadron.

During the weekend the cadets took part in many activities including a navigation exercise around the local area, a familiarisation exercise of the RAF station and a visit to the fire section.

On Tuesday all of the cadets went out to Bramley Training area. The exercise during the day was house clearance training given by Flt Lt Bell and LAC Spendelow. This helped to bring the night exercise to life with a full house clearance for all of the cadets using a barn on the training area.

For the rest of the week the cadets went shooting and had visits to the stations facilities. These included the Air Traffic Control tower, RAF Police section, engineering wing, survival section and of course 18 & 27 Squadron, the home of the Chinook Helicopter. All of the cadets got a flight in a Chinook throughout the week.

A big thank you to all of the cadets and staff who helped to make it a great camp . We would also like to thank the different sections from RAF Odiham who helped to make it such an enjoyable camp for the cadets.

More Photos will be added soon.......
