High flying cadets

Air Cadets from 460 (Dunstable) Squadron recently enjoyed a day to remember when they visited RAF Wattisham in Suffolk for an “Air Experience Flying Day”.

The cadets arrived in good spirits looking forward to “experience” flights in a Seaking helicopter, as well as being shown round their Apache helicopter.

The day started with briefings for both aircraft types, followed by more detailed briefings that included some detailed information about the capabilities of the aircraft,

the pilot’s missions and the workings of the base. This was then followed by flights over the Suffolk countryside for the lucky cadets.

In between flights the cadets chatted to pilots about their experiences.

Sgt. Rob Hart from the Dunstable Squadron said: “The day was a fantastic success, partly as a result of good flying weather, and also because we had a great team

of pilots to show us around. All the cadets were on a high when we left at the end of the day, and all are looking forward to their next Air Experience day”.
